George Arthur Hogland

February 11, 1933 – October 30, 2022

 

George Arthur Hogland was born in Albuquerque New Mexico to George L. Hogland and Minnie Ruth Hogland on February 11, 1933. He left this life on Oct 30, 2022 at his home in Lubbock. He was raised up in a Christian home and was baptized into Christ and he was a faithful member of the Church of Christ up to his death. George’s family later moved to Missouri where he graduated from Philipsburg High School in 1951.

He moved to Kansas City after graduating to work for Dictaphone dictation equipment. There he met Louva Lea Wyatt and they were married on August 15, 1953. To this union was born 4 children, the first, Dwight A. Hogland of Ohio, Judith Elaine Powell of Idaho, Kathy Hastings of Lubbock, and Karen Hogland of Lubbock.

George and family moved to Lubbock Texas November 3rd 1962 where he partnered with Baggett Business Machines. In 1966 he bought out his partner and later established Hogland Office Equipment Inc. where he and Louva ran and operated the business for over 50 years.

George also was the producer of a local radio program for over 50 years called “Words of Love” with the 3rd Street Church of Christ. Which is still the longest running local program to date.
